CATEGORY CRITERIA

Grey Nomad Hero of the Year

The Grey Nomad Hero Award recognises courageous or spirited behaviour that helped a person, a group or animal/s with whom the Grey Nomad nominee (or nominees) was not travelling in response to a non-planned incident or occasion. Local Government Authorities, emergency services or community groups are eligible to nominate Grey Nomads. Nomination in this category is free.

 

In addition to providing your name, organisation and contact details, you will be asked to provide the name and contact details for the hero being nominated. (If the heroes are a couple or two people who were travelling together, then the contact details of at least one of the nominees is required.)

 

1. At what caravan park, community park or free park was the nominee staying when the incident occurred?

 

2. Outline the circumstances that led to the courageous or spirited behaviour. When and where did this occur and what happened? Please include the names of people who played a part.

 

3. What actions did the grey nomad/s take, and what was the outcome?

Best Grey Nomad Volunteer of the Year

The Grey Nomad Volunteer Award recognises a Grey Nomad or Grey Nomads who undertook inspiring volunteer work on a program, project or event that either brought about improvement to the community that the nominee (or nominees) was visiting, left a legacy or significantly contributed to a community, environmental or educational project or event. Local Government Authorities, emergency services, education institutions, community groups and event organisers are eligible to nominate Grey Nomads. Nomination in this category is free.


In addition to being asked to provide your name, organisation and contact details, you will be asked to provide the name and contact details for the volunteer being nominated. (If the volunteers are a couple or two people travelling together, then the contact details of at least one of the nominees is required.)

 

1. At what caravan park, community park or free park was the nominee staying during their volunteering contribution?

 

2. Outline the volunteer project or program that pertains to this nomination.

 

3. Describe in detail please what the Grey Nomad volunteer/s did that was above and beyond the usual contribution of volunteers participating in this program or project.
